That would make it possible to take them into account in the total area of housing built in order to fulfill the presidential decree on the construction of 120 million square meters of housing per year, said the Assistant Minister of Construction of the Russian Federation Nikita Stasishin on the air of the Russia-24 TV channel. “First of all, we have to determine the status of apartment hotels, formulating their definition, their purpose, the modalities of living in them, determine whether they will be considered as residential premises. So the dwellers would be able to safely choose a management company and use all the types of services that are needed in housing premises. Most importantly, the square meters that are being built as housing would be counted towards the implementation of the presidential decree on the construction of 120 million square meters.” Earlier, Stasishin announced at a meeting in the Federation Council that the Ministry of Construction intended to regularize the status of apartment hotels already existing in Russia, and stop the construction in apartment hotel category afterwards.
